U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order Wednesday making a task force which will focus in part on creating advice for cryptocurrency fraud analyses.

Yet noteworthy for its crypto sector is its own mention of”digital money fraud,” that is among a variety of regions where the task force will”provide guidance for its identification and prosecution of cases involving fraud”

It is not clear in what type of advice will require, however, the task force will ultimately produce some type of report for the Trump government on this front.

Nevertheless it is not surprising that the government would proceed in this way. Before this year, the U.S. government suggested that it had been working toward a”comprehensive” plan around cryptocurrencies, with a concentration on fraud. In Februarythe U.S. Department of Justice formed a cybersecurity task force which includes cryptocurrencies as part of its mandate.

“A number of these schemes demand bitcoin along with other cryptocurrencies that do not flow throughout the standard financial system,” Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein stated in the moment. “What we are working on today using our cybercrime task force is a working on a comprehensive approach to manage that.”
